Individual Photos of Some of Our Kittens are Below.

These are just some of the kittens in our program.

As of March 18 we have 15 kittens of various ages that need homes

Because 60 to 80 cats and kittens are free roaming at our Adoption Center, we have been forced to develop policies that guarantee the safety and reduce stress of our felines. Following problems with the public, including 3 thefts of cats, children chasing kittens, a parent filing a complaint with the police because a syringe was left on a shelft, and endless other problems, we have limited access to our cats to those who are seriously considering adopting or who support our program. We are sorry to have to take these steps but our shelter is very unique and the nature of the general public in today's world has forced these changes.

We are grateful to those who adopt from us because without adoptions we are not able to help other cats. In our unique adoption environment you will meet many felines that will greet you at the door and interact with you. You will find our cats to be healthy, both physically and emotionally. You will witnesss their personalities and find one that will bond with you because they are not unduly stressed since they are not kept in cages.

If you are a person or family that we agree to adopt to, as per adoption policies, $10.00 is required prior to visiting our cats. Should you adopt within 7 days, the $10.00 will be deducted from the adoption fee. Should you choose not to adopt then the $10.00 will be considered as a donation to support our important work and help pay our many expenses We hope you understand.

Some visitors simply love cats and desire to enjoy petting and loving our felines. A simple $10.00 donation will open our door for you to be given the freedom to wonder throughout our adoption center to pet all of our beautiful felines. This is termed as a Tour.

________________________________________________________________

Please telephone and make an appointment in advance. We can do a better job if we know you are coming and can disucss adoption issues, concerns, or the personalities and suitability of any of our cats or kittens.

Many of our younger kittens and those having health issues reside at Cat Haven until they are ready for adoption."

Adoption Fees for kittens are $70.00. All have tested negative for Felv/FIV virus, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, wormed, and microchipped as appropriate up to the time of adoption. The cost to register the microchip under the name of the owner for the lifetime of the pet with PetLink is included in the adoption fee. Refer to our "Adoption Contract" handout for more information available at our "free-roaming" FPKB Store and Adoption Center, 239 Main, Klamath Falls, OR 541-850-0750.

We are a unique shelter in that our cats, which range between 60 and 100 in number, are free roaming. We truly work to adopt cats to families that will love and protect the cat for its lifetime.

We urge adoptive families to consider all felines, young and mature, when selecting a feline for the family. Young kittens may be preferred at first, but their personalities are not formed and they may grow up with a different temperament than when very young. Some individuals feel that if they get a very young kitten that it will naturally bond to them and love them more. Cats are independent in nature and they may mature differently than expected. Please consider adopting older felines as their personalities are well developed and their predictability in behavior is more clear.

For purposes of security to protect our cats, we have separated our Store from our Adoption Room. All of our cats now live in a free-roaming environment inside a locked area. This may pose a small inconvenience to those interested in adopting, but our cats are safer and subjected to less noise and risk from the general public. Until June 4, 2004, we maintained an open-area between store and cats but the thefts of 3 cats and a constant requirement to supervise the general public has regretfully forced us to "lock up" our cats for their protection. We hope you understand.

We do not complete "impulse" adoptions. We normally do not not adopt to a single family representative but will ask other members to participate in the selection. Minimum age to adopt is 21 with limitations on numbers of other family pets. We do not sell our cats. We place them only in homes that we are confident will be loving and long-term. Please refer to our "Adoption Policies and Procedures" handout available at our Adoption Center. Plan to spend time with us when you are looking at a feline to adopt. We reserve the right to decline an adoption request.

We use Science Diet Kitten Food and participate in the Science Diet Shelter Program
