Mandated Policies and Procedures
regarding applicants for
End the Cycle Now!
Spay/Neuter Program
Note: Qualifying Restrictions Apply to Participants
It is a fact Friends of Pets has limited funds to help cats in need and we are committed to partnering only with individuals who share our values and have no affiliation with any humane society. If you meet these qualifications, we welcome you to consider participating in End the Cycle Now! If you do not meet our qualifications, we will decline helping with the cost to spay/neuter and suggest contacting a humane society for financial assistance. Friends of Pets reserves the right to decline any request for spay/neuter assistance with no obligation to explain cause.
Policies:
1. Please respect our time. We are very busy caring for nearly 90 cats and need to use our time efficiently. Please be prepared to succinctly discuss the number of felines under your care, your financial considerations, and give information regarding your name and phone number for the certificate(s). We want to give you proper information, answer your questions, and return to our work.
2. You must respect the veterinary clinics' time, staff, and business setting. This very low-cost spay.neuter comes to you only from the generosity of the staff at Klamath Animal Clinic. Do not forget this! When you interface with the clinic staff, whether by phone or in person, we require you to be polite, to-the-point, helpful, and on time. Do not ask for exceptions to any policy. The veterinary staff will give directions so you will know what to do. If you are unsure or unclear, take a moment and ask your question. This will make it easier on everyone, including the cat. The staff will give you proper information so they can return to their work.
3. Everyone is contributing from pure generosity to help your cat. Not one of us is making money, but rather, people have made significant financial sacrifices to help your cat today. Your feline will receive the same standard of care during surgery as every other patient.
4. FOP's humane traps are to be used soley as per the written agreement.
5. We ask you to please pay as much as you can afford for each certificate. We have limited funds and want to stretch them to help as many cats as possible. If you have multiple cats and can more than the ECN rate, please offer to do so. It will greatly help us do more. The more we help the better for the cats!
6. If you are the one obtaining the certificates, please be the one to present the feline to the clinic on surgery morning, as well as pick up post-surgically. The greatest mistakes and misunderstandings occur when someone else does these tasks.
7. History speaks when I must say there always seems to be someone in the group who will ruin the program for everyone else. Therefore, please know, if you purchase multiple certificats and you or your agents fail to comply with all of the above before all your felines are spayed/neutered, the remaining certificates will be voided and no further services will be provided for the outstanding felines. No money for the remaining certificates will be refunded. We will advise you to locate another veterinary clinic of your choice to complete the work at your cost.
Procedures:
1. After receiving your certificate(s) telephone Klamath Animal Clinic and request to schedule an appointment. Please state you have an FOP certificate during the conversation. You will be required to have the feline at the clinic between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. on the day of surgery, with pickup the same day, at a time designated by veterinary staff. No food for the feline after 8:00 the night before surgery.
2. The clinic will schedule your cat's surgery on the day the staff has available time to perform the work.
3. The feline must arrive at the clinic in a plastic carrier or trap, as described in support documents.
4. Please note the expiration date on each ECN certificate. The ECN certificate will not be redeemable at the veterinary clinic after that date.
Agreement:
I have read all the policies and procedures required to participate in End the Cycle Now! I will be in full compliance to help this program succeed. I will accept the consequences listed in Policy No. 7 should I fail to do so.

Over 10,000 spayed or neutered!
Our primary goal as an organization is to reduce the numbers of unwanted cats in our community. What good is our saving a few, when over 2,000 animals are killed annually at our local shelter and hundreds of others are abandoned to live in fear and without food and water?
Our best answer is to help local residents spay or neuter their cats.
As of August 1st, 2010, we have helped with the spaying or neutering of over 10,000 cats . The numbers of unwanted kittens not born through this effort is impressive. Yet we know this number is insignificant compared to the number of animals that still need help. We commit every available dollar to keep these programs going.
Others share our commitment to this task. We are appreciative for the veterinary clinic which help us with our programs. Staff at the Klamath Animal Clinic has sponsored AlleyCat Spay/Neuter Clinics, and Cat Colony Spay/Neuter Programs. This clinic also perform discount spay/neuter services to support our programs for local residents. Without the clinic's help, we could accomplish very little.
We are grateful for all of
those who have helped and hope our work will continue. Your sending a financial
donation can make the difference.
Sincerely,
Kathy Williams, President
